Our home is stuck in the pass....stuck in a better time!
Since Kline started suffering from the topical steroid addiction, time has stayed still. Stuck in a time of pass memories of a healthy child. I have noticed when you look around our house, all the picture I have up are of him when he was healthy. Not one picture from the last 2 years is up and in a frame.
I am not sure if it's because I don't want to remember any part of these past 2 years of hell or I am just to over whelmed to print out pictures and put them up? Probably a bit of both.
Maybe once the itchy bastard is completely gone from our lives, I will feel differently.
The pictures of the last 2 years will be a symbol of Kline's courage and our families determination to stick it out and beat the itchy bastard.
A reminder of what I need to do to help others not suffer like Kline has.
A reminder of how we should enjoy every second of life with a healthy child, not stuck in the bathroom, which has been where we have lived.
A reminder to me to question authority, especially doctors.
So, until the itchy bastard leaves, I can sit here in my home and see the beautiful pictures of my beautiful boy, with beautiful skin. Until of course all hell broke loose and he got addicted to the drugs that were making his skin beautiful.
Here is to a healthy, happy, and itchy bastard free 2014!!!

Kline's update...he is 22 months off steroids which he was on for 2.5 years prescribed by his doctors for eczema. He still has rough nights....but his days are seeming better......most days he can be out of the tub most of the day. His skin looks really good except his bad spots, feet, elbow pits, back of knees. He started ski camp this week, so wish us luck that the itchy bastard stays away for that!!!! Shed it, Kline!

"I wish Santa would take away my itchies!"
Kline was having an itchy fit the other day and said,
" I wish Santa would take away my itchies!"
Wtf? No baby should have to wish for good health from Santa instead of their favorite wishful toy. But here we are going into our 2nd Christmas with the itchy bastard! Last year Santa let us down, damn do I hope he follows through this year!
Last year Kline had to open his Christmas presents in the tub. ;(
Come on Santa, take that itchy bastard and the tub he has imprisoned Kline into back to the north pole with you! Berry him in the snow for good, not to itch Kline or any other baby ever again!!!!! Please Santa!! I promise to be a good girl for the rest of my life if you do! I will even stop cussing.... Well, I could try at least!
Thanks SAnta xoxoxxo Kline's mom

91 weeks off topcial steroids and I am sorry to say the itchy bastard is still attacking!
Well, not much new to report, I feel like a broken record that we are all getting sick of listening to. Kline is in another bad flare. Up all night, till 4 or 7 am and sleeping till 2pm most days. Then in the bath till bed most days. His feet are pretty bad and super itchy. He screams bloody murder when he gets in the bath because of the boo boo's on his feet and it breaks my heart, all I can do is hold his hand!
I have no idea if he will ever not be itchy. It's is hard to keep my hopes up when it has been so long. I hope and wish with all my soul that his life gets better than this, that he is not itchy like this forever. Maybe Santa will answer our wishes this year?
I, on the other hand have been obsessed with my diet and Crossfit! I love Crossfit and thanks to my local Crossfit Jibboom, in Truckee Ca...I now have a new body, I am the strongest I have ever been, i am super healthy, and I AM one hot mama!
I will share my before and after pictures with you.....I have not shared my before picture much because I

Happy Halloween! A Food Allergy Stresser

BOO!
ok for kline!
"It's Dairy!"
So the itchy bastard stayed away pretty much all day on Halloween! That was super, and thank god for that!!
It should have been a stress free night then right!?!?
Well, as a mom with a severe food allergy kid, Halloween is always a scary nightmare!
Every house you go to you have to check the candy and make sure it doesn't have nuts, dairy, eggs, gluten, etc.
Kline has gotten really good at knowing what candies he can have! It is pretty amazing, how well this kid knows his shit! He can look into a huge bowl of candy and pick out which ones he can have, he is devoted to the cause!
The problem is people don't always let the kids pick their candy...they just drop a handful of candy into the kids bag and push them out the door.
So, if I could suggest something to everyone who hands out candy. Please let the kids pick the candy they want!
Kline tried hard to do this, but people just thought he was being rude and "shopping" for the candy he wanted. They did not realize that if he got a bite of a dairy, egg, or nut candy he could die.
Kline was such a trooper.... If he got a dairy or nut candy....he would just walk back to me, say, "dairy" in a disappointed tone and give me the candy or give it to one of his friends. I would reassure him that at the next house he may get a candy he could eat. It was sad but sweet and I was very proud of him!!
Actually, I was a fucking fool, because I didn't even bring his epi pen along. What an ass!!!! Once it gets dark a deadly candy could easily be eaten on accident.
So, next year, I will remember a flash lite to see what the candy is and his epi pen! My Paxil and a nice big glass of wine will help too.
If you could remember to let the kiddos pick their own candy out of your bowl that would be great too,
Thanks,
From one freak of an allergy mom!
